Understanding Hue, Saturation and Luminosity Gradients
1 min read
As well as simple colour gradients, we can create and use separate gradients based on hue, saturation and luminosity (HSL). Luminosity gradients are well known, though a new use of them is shown here. Saturation gradients can be surprisingly useful. And Hue gradients are just tricky, perhaps because hue is measured as an angle and when calculated from RGB can be distinctly non-linear.
